CLEARFIELD — A road project considered vital to the future of a $122 million development on 70 acres of Utah Transit Authority property near the Clearfield Station has been given the green light.
The city council voted recently to award a bid to extend Depot Street to Craythorne Construction Inc. of Syracuse for a total project cost of $246,000. The project will help link State Route 193 to the Clearfield Station when the Utah Transit Authority‘s developer constructs the southerly portion of the street.
City officials are projecting a late August or early September groundbreaking for the Clearfield Station. The development will be located on property owned by the UTA near the FrontRunner hub at approximately 1250 S. State St.
The development is expected to offer a mix of retail, office space and warehousing, as well as multi-family housing. Thackeray Garn Co. has teamed with UTA to form the Clearfield Station LLC, which will develop the project.
